Paul and Ryan Williams

Location: Ynysboeth Abercynon

Paul is the owner/ mechanic at Bryncynon Service Station & Potchys M.O.T station.
Ryan is a mechanic alongside his dad Paul.

Both were raised around motorcycles with their Dad/Grandad David Williams being a keen biker and bike mechanic all of his life too, this is where the family nickname potchy came from as David was forever “potching” with a bike or two !

Paul has always ridden on the roads on anything from his BMW S1000RR to a Harley Davidson. His ultimate goal is to ride at the Isle of Man T.T. and began racing in order to obtain his national/ international road racing license. Paul took part in his first race in late 2014 at Pembrey. Entering three races he achieved a second place and two first place trophies and also gained the newcomers lap record.

At the start of the 2015 season, Paul joined the S.M.W. racing team, who race with North Gloucester Road Racing Club. In round one at Brands Hatch he continued his winning streak by bagging another two first place trophies and breaking the newcomers lap record again!!! Round two at Cadwell Park saw Paul continuing his success winning both newcomers races and the 1300 Street Stocks. Paul is looking forward to round three in Oulton park where hopefully he will keep his winning streak in both races.

Ryan, like his Dad, has a passion for riding on the roads but has also delved into the racing world. He is likely to follow in the his Father’s footsteps after entering his first ever race on Easter bank holiday weekend. Ryan raced in round one at Tonfanau road racing circuit and achieved fourth place, Paul securing another first place. Ryan's next race is with Hottrax at Pembrey on May Bank Holiday weekend.

After only a few races between them they have both gained some sponsorship. Paul is backed by the PVC store Merthyr Tydfil and Trackday Tyres.Ryan is sponsored by D.W. Motorcycles and Black Round and Sticky Tyres. Paul and Ryan continue too seek further sponsorship.
