Aberdare Park Road Races are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for competitors in the Welsh Open and Park Challenge classes to win extra prize money this year. Thanks to the generous donations of £500 each from Willis Marshall and Hywel Griffiths, a £1,000 prize pot has been created to be distributed to the top three riders who accumulate the most points in these classes.
The points system will follow the format used in Moto GP:
1st: 25 points
2nd: 20 points
3rd: 16 points
4th: 13 points
5th: 11 points
6th: 10 points
7th: 9 points
8th: 8 points
9th: 7 points
10th: 6 points
11th: 5 points
12th: 4 points
13th: 3 points
14th: 2 points
15th: 1 point
At the end of the weekend, the riders with the most accumulated points will be awarded as follows:
1st Place: £500
2nd Place: £300
3rd Place: £200
The winner will also be crowned the 'Aberdare Ace' for 2024, adding an extra layer of prestige to their achievements.
