When does the Aberdare Park Road Races take place in 2025?The provisional dates for the 2025 Aberdare Park Road Races are Saturday 12th July and Sunday 13th July 2025

Getting to Aberdare Park?By Car Aberdare Park is located less than a mile from Aberdare Town centre off the B4275 (Hirwaun Road). If you are using a SAT-NAV, our postcode is CF44 8BN. By Bus Stagecoach runs regular services from Aberdare Bus Station towards Aberdare Park. There are several bus stops located alongside the B4275 (Hirwaun Road). Services No: 6; 7; 8; 9; 11A; 11C; 89. Service runs approximately every 10 minutes. Please note that the Sunday bus timetable is likely to be different. Visit the Stagecoach website for further up-to-date information By Train Transport for Wales runs a regular service from Cardiff Central or Pontypridd to Aberdare Train Station (every 30 minutes). The train station is 5 minutes away from Aberdare bus station/ taxi ramp. For an up-to-date timetable, please visit the Transport For Wales website. *It is also worth noting that the National Eisteddfod of Wales is taking place in Pontypridd on August 3rd and 4th. So it's advised to start your journey as early as possible to avoid congestion.

How do I purchase tickets?Tickets for the 2025 Aberdare Park Road Races are on sale soon. You can buy tickets via our website by clicking on the tickets/store button. A range of tickets will be on sale including weekend tickets, day tickets, family tickets, OAP tickets and kids tickets. Tickets will also be available on the gate, however we'd recommend purchasing your tickets in advance to avoid any disappointment.

What time does the racing start on finish on race days?Bikes will take to the track at 9am approx on both days. Saturday morning will consist of a practice session with racing starting at 11am approx. Sunday will also include a shorter practice session at 9am. All racing will conclude at 5pm at the latest on both days.

What bikes will be racing at Aberdare Park?As always there will be a wide-range of machines tackling the challenge of Aberdare Park. Whether it's the bigger bikes of the Welsh Open or Park Challenge, where 600cc 4-cylinder or 675cc 3-cylinder race bikes take to the track, or smaller 50cc/80cc machines, or even the Golden Era Classics, there's plenty to see at Aberdare Park. Is there a race schedule?A race schedule will be produced and shared closer to race weekend. Keep an eye on our website page and our social media channels for more information.

Is there parking available at or near the event?There is a limited amount of bike parking at the main entrance at Aberdare Park. Spaces are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. There are also plenty of unofficial parking spaces nearby. These will be shared on our Facebook Supporters Group by the organiser of each respective unofficial vehicle parking site. Make sure you join for further updates.

Are there accessible parking and facilities for visitors with disabilities?Yes, there is a limited amount of space available in front of the main spectator entry and just inside the main gates. This is available on a first come, first served basis.

What are the safety policies for spectators?WARNING - MOTORSPORT CAN BE DANGEROUS Despite the organisers taking all reasonable precautions, unavoidable accidents can happen, please comply with all instructions of marshals and notices and remain in permitted areas only. For everyone's safety is priority. We accept no liability however any accidents may be caused and by purchasing any ticket to the event, you waive your right to any subsequent claims. We also request that spectators should not wear yellow jackets or coats.

I'm interested in becoming a marshal for the weekend. Is this possible?Yes this is possible. Marshals are an integral part of our event and without them we simply won't be able to race. Can I bring my own seating to the event?A regular camping chair is allowed, as long as you are behind the spectator barriers.

Is the event suitable for children?Yes, we have numerous attractions for children such as an adventure playground and child friendly activities within the in-field area. We do advise that ear defenders should be used for young children.

Will there be food and beverage options available?Yes there will be plenty of food and beverage options available for spectators. There will be stalls situated across the site serving a range of hot and cold food, including from within the Lakeside Cafe. Soft drinks will also be available at these stalls. If you'd like a taste of the award-winning local beer and ale, you can also visit our friends from Grey Trees Brewery who will be serving a range of homemade drinks over the weekend.

Is the event held rain or shine?Yes! Our riders can compete and take on the challenge of Aberdare Park in the blistering sun or a typical Welsh downpour. Racing will still continue in wet conditions, unless there's a major, significant risk to public safety.

What should I wear to the event, considering the weather?The weather in Wales is typically unpredictable. So preparing for various weather conditions is advisable. Check the Met Office website closer to race-day for a more reliable update on the forecast. If it's going to be a sunny one, ensure that you pack appropriate clothing, a hat, water and maybe some suncream (You never know!) If a downpour is forecast, then we'd advise that you wear appropriate footwear, a waterproof jacket and a spare change of clothes (Just in case!)

Are there facilities for visitors with disabilities and how do I request accessible services?We always try our hardest to accommodate all disabled spectators as best as we can. Aberdare Park does have a disabled toilet available which is located next to the Riverside Cafe. If there is some specific requirements that you need, please get in touch with us and the team will try their upmost to support you!

Is there event merchandise available for purchase?Yes there will be a wide-range of official Aberdare Park Road Races merchandise available via our official supplier Shop 4 Bikers and D&M Designs. You'll be able to view the range of merchandise options in 2025.

Can I camp at the event, and is there an official campsite?Yes, we do have our own official campsite located behind the paddock. In 2024 we experienced issues with the local authority proceeding with groundworks earlier than communicated. For 2025, we will have more access and extra facilities for all attendees. Can I bring a camera or smartphone for personal photos and videos?You're more than welcome to bring your camera to the Aberdare Park Road Races, as long as you're situated within the designated spectator areas. Please feel free to tag us on your social media posts when your images/videos have been published!
