Travel information

Driving - The postcode for Aberdare Park is CF44 8HN. We strongly encourage spectators to check an online route planner to confirm your quickest and easiest route.

Trains – On Saturday, trains will be running every half hour on the Aberdare line. Trains on Sunday are limited to one every hour. Please check the Transport For Wales website for more info. The train station is located next to the Town Centre and is either a short walk or short bus journey to Aberdare Park. We’re just waiting for confirmation and details for the Aberdare Park Road Races shuttle bus that can transport spectators from Aberdare Library to the Park. Keep an eye on our social media channels for more news.

Camping

The campsite for spectators will be open from 12pm on Friday 11th July. The spectator campsite is located next to the race paddock. When you arrive near Aberdare Park, follow the signs for the paddock entrance on Cherry Drive. When you arrive, you will be directed to where you can go. We have an allocated area for motorhomes and campers.

There is running/drinking water available for use. Toilets are also available. Unfortunately, we don’t have access to shower facilities at this time due to the ongoing work within the paddock area by the local council, however this is something we’re planning to facilitate in the future.

Parking

There is a limited amount of space inside the front gates at Aberdare Park and will be available on a first come first served basis.

There is also a limited number of disabled parking access within the front gates and will be available on a first come first served basis.

There are also private unofficial parking areas available nearby at St John’s School (CF44 8BW), Harlequins Bowls Club (CF44 8EL) and Oasis Community Church (CF44 8ED).

Disabled access

If you need support to access the spectator areas, please let a member of our team know on arrival and they will help you.

Merchandise & Programmes

Official Aberdare Park merchandise can be found at the stall by the entry gate. There is more merchandise available at the trade stalls. Programmes can also be bought at the entry gate for £5. This year is jam packed with content so get them before they sell out!

What to bring

Weather in Wales is temperamental to say the least. So be prepared for anything. Bring clothes and footwear for all weather conditions. Hopefully you’ll just need to remember to pack the sun cream. You’re also welcome to bring camping and fold-up chairs.

Dogs

No dogs are allowed on site.

Food & Drink

There will be a variation of hot and cold food available for spectators, along with a coffee stall, milkshake bar and ice cream vans. No alcohol is allowed to be brought into the park and there will be random bag searches taking place upon entry. There will be a bar on site, and we’re delighted that Aberdare’s local brewery Grey Trees, will be serving their award-winning drinks throughout the weekend.

Trade Stalls

As always there will be a wide range of stall within the infield. From merchandise, displays and some activities for the kids.

What to do around the Town

There are plenty of pubs nearby the park, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants around the town centre too, which is only a five minute walk way.
